My Granny (Emma Kate’s great grandmother) had to be put into the hospital in Augusta a few days ago for congestive heart faliure. Emma Kate thought it would brighten her day to drive 3 hours to visit her. Granny looked really good and Emma Kate enjoyed the visit. She doesn’t get to spend nearly as much time with Granny as she wants, but every time is a real treat. Hopefully next time she visits her she won’t be in the hospital, though!

Emma Kate wanted to visit her cousins Addison and Madeline in Suwanee today, so we drove up to Suwanee and spent the day with them. EK had a blast. She’s very lucky to have cousins who love her so much! Grandpa took her up and down the stairs as many times as she wanted to go. Then he pulled her and Madeline around the yard in the wagon and pushed her on the swing. Addison and Madeline jumped with her on the trampoline, and J. cooked delicious hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill. We didn’t get home until almost midnight!

The youngest of Emma Kate’s best friends is Miss Hayden Grace. She was born about 5 months after EK. She’s one of the most adorable girls, and her brother Will is very cute and is a big flirt with the younger ladies. Erin and Steve had Gracie’s party at their house. If you’ve ever been to one of Erin’s parties you know what to expect – great food (and large quantities) and a fun atmosphere. All of the kids had a great time.

Believe it or not it’s snowing in Georgia! While we didn’t get a lot snow and it melted fast, it was still very pretty and fun. I didn’t realize it was going to be gone so quickly, or I would have gotten EK out in it sooner. The first few are just from around the house. The rest, obviously, are from outside in the snow.

Alison’s, her mom’s, and my birthday all fall within a week of each other. For the last 6 or 7 years both sides of our family have come into town to celebrate. This year we went to La Parrilla restaurant in McDonough. Thanks to all of you for driving 4 hours to celebrate with us. And thanks for the great gifts!

I just got my first DSLR – a Nikon D200! These are some images I took the first couple of days of getting it. I’ve got a lot to learn, but I’m really pleased with the results so far. Most of these are either while she’s eating or while she’s in the bath. Those are the times she most confined to a small space, so it’s a little easier to capture her. These aren’t any where near the quality of Shawna’s (see post from September of last year), but I’m happy with them. I’d love to read your comments!
